Midnight Shine
This was shot at one of my favorite vantage points in the city: South Pond. Just next to the Lincoln Park Zoo, the renovated area reclaims Illinois' natural prairie plant species and added the shelter that you see to the left, which was designed by local Chicago architect Jeanne Gang. There is an incredible amount of natural light being created by the moon in this picture, illuminating the sky, the water, and my favorite the plants. Full moons on clear nights give way for truly rare and unique captures where ambient light is not normally found.
